Build the night
Pick a shape, drop in rounds and questions from the bank, save it. Next week, swap the questions and go again.
Build it on your laptop. Put it on the big screen. Run it from your phone, one thumb, pint in the other hand. Music rounds, mini-games, a rolling jackpot and a look that's entirely yours.
One flat price. No per-head charges, no special kit, no lock-in.
The moment that repeats forty times a night: asked, timed, revealed.
No buzzers, no keypads, no app for the players to download. If you can run a slideshow, you can run Quizzrd.
Pick a shape, drop in rounds and questions from the bank, save it. Next week, swap the questions and go again.
Drag the show window onto the screen. The room sees the show. Your controls stay on your laptop, where nobody can peek.
Scan the code and your phone becomes the remote. One Next button that knows what comes next: reveal, play, spin, draw.
The whole night in one place, from the first slide to the jackpot. Here's what you get.
From a 70s Saturday-night set to a velvet-curtained cabaret, every look dresses the big screen and your console. Tap one to try it above.
Each of these genuinely suits a different job. Worth knowing which job is yours.
Good for big or remote crowds. But the room stops looking up, and it's a buzz-in quiz rather than a show.
Quizzrd keeps it heads-up. Teams on paper, eyes on the big screen, the host working the room.
Sheets arrive in the post and the prep is done for you. But it's their questions, their format, their sheets, and a fee every week.
Quizzrd keeps the night yours. Your questions, your format, your look on the screen.
Built for permanent installs and produced game shows, often with hardware and per-device licences.
Quizzrd needs no kit. A laptop, a screen, and your phone as the remote.
Quizzrd is built by a working quizmaster who still runs a night every week. Every decision in it comes from standing at a mic in a busy room and finding out the hard way what breaks.
That's why the phone is a remote rather than a buzzer. Why the music is built in rather than in another tab. Why the marking is designed for paper sheets passed down the table. It's the night I wanted to run, made properly.
Still hosting, every week.Ten things worth comparing before you commit to any of it.

A pub quiz host based in London, and the person who built Quizzrd.
I created Quizzrd to fill a gap: for people who wanted to host engaging, popular quizzes without shelling out for extra software, buzzers, or making everyone play on their phones.
I still use it every single week to run my own nights, so I know first-hand that it works when a real room is watching.
I'm always updating it, and always keen to hear what people think. If you've got an idea, a bit of feedback, or just want to say hello, drop me a line. I read every message.
Every feature earned its place on an actual quiz night, not in a spec doc.
Just the laptop and screen you already own, and your phone as the remote.
New questions, games and polish land regularly, often straight from host feedback.
The short version: I collect as little as possible, I don't sell anything to anyone, and your quiz content stays yours.

Quizzrd is run by Andrew Cuthbertson, based in London, United Kingdom. For anything about your data, use the contact form. The data controller is Andrew Cuthbertson.
If you join the waitlist, I collect your email address only. It's used for one purpose: telling you about the Quizzrd launch and your locked-in pricing offer.
Lawful basis: your consent, given when you submit the form. You can withdraw it at any time.
To give you a license I hold your email address, a securely hashed password (or your sign-in provider's identifier), your plan and billing status, and basic technical logs needed to keep the service running and secure.
Payments are handled by Polar.sh. I never see or store your full card details.
Quizzrd is local-first: the quizzes, questions, team names and scores you create are stored in your own browser on your own computer. I don't read them, mine them or use them to train anything. You may optionally share questions you write to the shared bank for other users - this can be toggled in the settings. No compensation, financial or otherwise, will be offered for questions shared.
This website uses only what it needs to work: no advertising or tracking cookies. The app uses a cookie to keep you signed in.
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see the data I hold about you, correct it, delete it, take it elsewhere, or object to how it's used. Use the contact form and I'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
If this notice changes in a way that affects you, I'll say so by email before it takes effect. The date at the top always shows the current version.
Pay monthly, cancel whenever, keep your own content, don't resell the question bank. That's genuinely most of it.

Quizzrd is provided by Andrew Cuthbertson of 61 Abbots Park, London, United Kingdom. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you don't, please don't use it.
You need an account to use Quizzrd. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, and tell me promptly if you think someone else has them. One membership is for one host: you can run as many quizzes at as many venues as you like, but don't share your login with other hosts running their own nights.
Refunds: if Quizzrd doesn't work for you, contact me within 14 days of your first payment and I'll refund it. Beyond that, part-months aren't refunded.
Questions you write, artwork you upload and quizzes you build remain entirely yours. Because Quizzrd stores them on your own machine, keeping backups is on you, so please export anything you'd be upset to lose.
The Quizzrd software, its designs and the included question bank belong to me. While you're subscribed you may use them freely to run your own quiz nights, including commercially. That's the whole point.
You may not republish, resell or redistribute the question bank as a product of its own, or copy the software itself.
Quizzrd lets you play your own audio and video. Making sure you're allowed to play it in your venue is your responsibility. In the UK that usually means the venue holds the appropriate music licence.
Please don't use Quizzrd to break the law, to host content that's hateful or harassing, or to attack or reverse-engineer the service. I may suspend an account that does, and will explain why.
Quizzrd is built to keep running through a bad connection, and I use it myself every week, but no software is perfect. I can't promise it will never fail, and I'd rather say so than pretend otherwise.
To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for indirect losses: a disappointing night, lost bar takings, or data you hadn't backed up. My total liability is limited to what you've paid in the previous 12 months. Nothing here limits liability the law says can't be limited, and your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.
Quizzrd is actively developed, so features will be added and occasionally changed. If something you rely on is going away, you'll hear it from me first. If I ever have to close the service, I'll give 60 days notice and make sure you can export everything.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to its courts. Questions about any of this? Just ask. I'd rather talk than argue.
